The education programme run by SGCMA in 2023 included a range of workshops on different topics including Club Benchmarking and Mistakes Managers Make.
A number of virtual sessions on the zoom platform were delivered covering a variety of different education and information topics. These proved to be very popular and also gave members the chance to network amongst themselves on a range of different issues impacting on the day to day management of clubs.
Our new corporate partners have been attending some of our events including the AGM and golf days where they are given the opportunity to share with the members what services they provide and how they can help clubs to deliver services to their own members.
The CMAE run Management Development Programme continues to go from strenght to strength with demand for places exceeding supply and evaluation feedback at an all time high level. Below is a photo of the attendees at Stirling Court.
This year saw the introduction of a Young Managers Group for the under 45s and an exciting prgramme of events kicked off at Gullane in September with nearly 20 young managers attending. This will be a great opportunity for our young and aspiring managers to learn from some of our more seasoned and experienced managers. Photo below shows some of those attending the first YMG event at Gullane GC. If you wish to attend these events or find out more information please contact David Addison at Barassie GC. This year saw a programme of 6 different venues being visited which included Muirfield, Loch Lomond, Fairmont, Bruntsfield Links, Blairgowrie, Royal Burgess and all were well attended. Many thanks to the host clubs and managers for their time and effort in making these days very special.
