International Match versus GCMA England

This international networking match versus GCMA England is an excellent way to increase your network, compare notes with managers from across England and Scotland, as well as represent your country!

The match is played for The Partridge Trophy and is friendly but competitive!

H.E.Partridge was an early member of the A.G.C.S and more than interested in it’s progress, a retired Captain of one of Edinburghs’ Golf Clubs.

MacDonald Fraser and he were great friends and he retired to Macs’ home district Newtonmore.

It was suggested by Mac that Partridge donate a trophy for the International Match and resulted thus by having the beautiful Crystal Globe specially blown by the Caithness Crystal Co designed and engraved by them. The trophy was named the Challenge Trophy.

The first match took place at Royal Birkdale in 1955 when it was won by Scotland.

We are fortunate this match has been played at a number of the most prestigious clubs in Scotland and England.
