CMAE Scotland came into being in February 2024, having previously been known as The Scottish Golf & Club Managers Association (SGCMA).

The SGCMA was formed in 2016 by the merger of CMAE Scottish Region and the Golf Club Managers Association Scottish Region. 

Driven by the desire to provide education, support and networking opportunities to all club managers the length and breadth of Scotland, irrespective of the type of club - golf, tennis, dining, social.

Close links were made immediately with The Club Management Association of Europe (CMAE) and their industry leading MDP programme, ultimately leading to the Certified Club Manager (CCM) qualification. 

These close links ultimately led to the re-naming of SGCMA to CMAE Scotland, to re-affirm our dedication to education.
